Wythenshawe Community Initiative - meeting the needs of the local community

Join the team!

WCI has a long history of providing volunteer opportunities for local people from a variety of backgrounds. Several of our staff members started work here as volunteers and by gaining experience and qualifications have been able to go on to paid work, both with us and for other organisations

There is no such thing as a 'typical' volunteer. Some people want to volunteer  as the first step in a new career, others simply want to help out. Some come with bags of experience and qualifications, others have never done anything similar before. The one thing they all have in common is making a big difference!

We have several exisitng volunteer opportunities including:

Contact Centre volunteers - assisting on Contact sessions, supporting seperated parents and family members to rebuild relationships with their child.

Community Childcare volunteers- childcare assistants to support the delivery of quality childcare to local people.

Fundraising - people who are able to spare a few hours to help organise fundraising events or look for funding opportunities

We are also keen to expand the roles of volunteers within our organisation and welcome any new ideas that you may have.

If you are interested in any of the above roles, or indeed have suggestions of your own please contact us for an informal chat.
