Wythenshawe Child Contact Centre
'Putting children's needs first'
WHAT IS A CHILD CONTACT CENTRE?
Wythenshawe Child Contact Centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children and separated family members can spend time together.
The contact centre is a child friendly environment that provides toys, games and facilities to help rebuild relationships between family members
SUPPORTED CONTACT WORKERS ROLE
We at Wythenshawe Contact Centre are a supported Centre, not supervised. Contact sessions are run by experienced staff, supported by a team of volunteers. The staff are there to help the contact run smoothly by providing fun activities and making sure there is a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Contact workers are not permitted to pass messages, money, letters or parcels between parents. Contact workers must not be used as go-betweens and are not allowed to become involved in family disputes.
USING CHILD CONTACT CENTRES.
Most families are referred to Child Contact Centres by solicitors who fill in the forms and make the arrangements required.
Other families are referred by the Courts, CAFCASS officers, family mediators, health visitors, social workers or community organisations. In exceptional circumstances you may refer yourself, however please contact the Centre first if you plan to do this
